Book Bag Buddies

BBB – Book Bag Buddies How It Works:

  1. Pick up food from vendors once a month for that month’s supply for the schools.

  2. CEO Dock Cooper is the contact for program.

  3. Pack the book bags for the students on every Thursday for

    the Friday hand-out.

  4. Book bags are handed out every Friday at Boyd Elementary

    School & Spann Elementary Schools. We average between 40-60 book bags per week at a cost of $5.00 per bag. We are adding 2 new schools to the program per year. We are averaging a cost of $300.00 per week for 16 weeks of the first semester of the school year.

  5. Bags must be picked up every Monday or Tuesday to get ready for the week’s distribution. Bags are in the offices for pick-up on Monday afternoons or Tuesday. Nametags are attached to the bags for identification.

  6. The costs for the program will be $4800 for the first semester for 2 schools. We are asking for the help of the community to provide weekend meals for those children identified by their schools as having an issue with getting enough nutrition on the weekends. With the addition of 2 new schools, that cost will double to $9,600 per semester for 120 students at 4 schools. We are anticipating impacting these students starting the 3rd week of September 2015.

We are asking for help through the food drive to get non perishables to help with the cost per child. Our food drive is Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the Walmart in Madison from 7 am to 5 pm. Please come out and support!!!
